On my 45th birthday I had an epiphany.  I realized no matter how hard I wished, my metabolism was not reverting back to the days of the burn, burn, burn.  Twenty years ago, if my metabolism could have been described as a type of car, I'd have been a gas guzzler -something like a big old caddie.  What girl could ask for more?  Eat and never think about it.   Then it happened...marriage, children, and a savings account or at least saving for school clothes or new carpet, or a vacation.  In the mist of all my savings, I am convinced that my metabolism not only got in on the act but actually perfected it.  My metabolism doesn't just save, it conserves.  In fact, if I chose a car to describe my metabolism today, I'd be a Prius.   Good gas mileage...plenty of storage room in the rear...   Which brought me to this question - "If I went car shopping this afternoon, would I choose a Prius?  The answer is "No!"   While there is nothing wrong with a Prius  - it just doesn't appeal to me.   So why sit back and buckle up in a body style that isn't what I want?  Don't get me wrong, this body of mine gets me from point A to point B.  It has seen me through some tough times and given me a few along the way.  But it's time to trade it in.  I've reached the point where I want to drive in style....maybe not as a Lexus, all sleek and sophisticated....but something dependable...tough...like a Chevy - Camero that is!
